Neighborhood Exchange offers a variety of capacity building resources for community organizations. It is an evolving platform that currently includes the programs listed below. Stay up to date on our resources and upcoming opportunities via our website, Facebook, and Newsletter.
The website is a comprehensive source for organizations to access information about resources, events, news, and a network of local change makers online. Together we are building stronger communities in Michigan. Join the exchange- LEARN, SHARE and CONNECT online.
The NEx Network includes community-based organizations, resource providers, civic leaders and others working to build stronger communities in Michigan. NEx is a space for these organizations and leaders to connect, share best practices and resources, and support one another as they find solutions to common challenges.
We invite neighborhood associations and other community-based organizations to make appointments with our staff to address a variety of their organizational needs, such as grant writing, program evaluation, and partnership development. Each one-hour appointment provides opportunities for specific consultation to brainstorm solutions, review existing documents, or draft new documents. Sign up for Office Hours to schedule an appointment.
Our workshops are designed to help community-based organizations enhance their skills in key organizational areas through interactive activities, informative presentations, peer networking, and much more. Stay up to date on upcoming workshops through our Community Calendar.

EVENT SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM
The Neighborhood Exchange Event Sponsorship Program is intended to support and highlight groups that are doing work that embodies the spirit of the Neighborhood Exchange. At the same time, it is an opportunity for Michigan Community Resources to partner with community-based organizations to spread the word about Neighborhood Exchange and invite others to connect.
Since 2009, we have awarded over $850,000 in mini grants to community-based organizations in Detroit. The mini-grants were awarded to neighborhood organizations and groups for projects to help eliminate blight, reduce the negative effects of vacant property, and promote neighborhood safety.
