The 67 Placemaking Project is a mini grant to support the development of public spaces that honor the legacy of the events of 1967. This is a partnership between the Detroit Historical Society and Community Development Advocates of Detroit (CDAD). The grants are made possible with the generous support of PNC Foundation. The winners were chosen by a community review panel. Here are the 67 Placemaking Project grantees:


District 1 – Grandmont Rosedale’s The GRANDcorridor Beautification Project

District 2 – LGBT Detroit’s #SafeBraveSpace  

District 3 – Eden Gardens’ Eden Gardens Park

District 4 – Michigan Historic Preservation Network’s Fox Creek Park: Art Beyond Borders

District 5 – Oakland Avenue Artists Coalition’s 12th Street Memorial and Pavillion

District 6 – Bridging Communities’s Outdoor Theater Project

District 7 – Greenview Block Club’s Greenview Dreams Brings Community Greatness
