Join the Movement!

The Land + Water WORKS Coalition (LWWC) wants you!  Join the movement to make Detroit a more sustainable city for generations to come through innovative land use that transforms vacant lots into community assets, prevents polluted stormwater runoff from entering our water system and more.

The LWWC is currently seeking neighborhood leaders from across the city of Detroit to serve as Land + Water WORKS Ambassadors. The LWWC will select 25 individuals and 20 non-profit organizations from across the city to engage and educate residents on the recently recalculated DWSD drainage fee and the green stromwater management (GSI) solutions that can help improve the quality of life of all Detroiters. The LWWC Ambassador will earn up to $1,000 for participating in the program. Ambassadors will receive comprehensive training, a toolkit with the materials necessary to complete outreach and engagement activities that educate residents on GSI and DSWD’s recalculated drainage fee.

Land + Water WORKS Ambassadors will gain invaluable knowledge to become agents of change in their neighborhood as we work together to make Detroit a leader in grassroots green stormwater infrastructure innovation.
