Neighborhood Exchange: How are you making a difference through your involvement with Cornerstone 48217?

Dotti Sharp and Jackie Conley: Helping to beautify the community by turning a vacant lot into a flower garden.

Tell us about your group’s proudest accomplishment.

Jackie:  Even though this was our first experience in fundraising we feel it was very successful.

Dotti: The transformation of a vacant lot into a flower garden was very rewarding and I felt a sense of accomplishment to do something in my community.

What is one concrete thing that can be done to make your work easier or more impactful?

Jackie:  Technology specifically facebook and twitter.

Dotti: More engagement from the community.

What motivates you to be involved in your community?

Dotti:  To make a lasting impact in my community and to motivate and encourage others to want to make a difference.

Jackie:  The need to restore our neighborhood to a more vibrant and beautiful place to live, work ,and worship.
