Kiva Detroit is made possible in partnership with local community groups and Kiva’s Trustee partners working together to connect Kiva lenders to entrepreneurs that they know and trust in their communities.

Receive updates as the borrowers you support succeed and repay their loans.

Michigan Corps is a community organization based in Detroit whose platform and initiatives meet Michiganders where they are and empower citizens, reaching out to small business owners and deepening the community engagement of Detroiters. Michigan Corps works with Kiva to give Michiganders everywhere easy opportunities to make a difference in our home state.
Knight Foundation invests in residents- including immigrants and entrepreneurs- as drivers of economic growth, job creation and neighborhood revitalization, by promoting informed and engaged communities nationwide. All individual loans to Kiva Detroit’s small businesses will be matched dollar-for-dollar on Kiva.org by the Knight Foundation until June 2018.
Accion USA provides microfinance servicxes to small business owners natiowide via an online lending platform. We train the Michigan Corps small business outreach team, underwrite and administer all loans. We are thrilled to work with Kiva to empower low- to moderate-income business owners.
Build Institute provides information, connections and key tools to help people build a project or business in Detroit, getting their businesses in place before they reach Kiva. Build Institute is excited to join Kiva Detroit and provide crowdfunded microloans focused on character rather than credit to our entrepreneurs.
